Anze L. Smith Cochran was born January 24, 1931, in Luther, Oklahoma, to Agnes Relf Smith and Prester A. Smith. She was the seventh of eight children. Her parents, one sister, and one brother preceded her in death. Anze grew up in the Luther Community and graduated from Washington High School.
She also attended Langston University and Rose State College. She united with the Church of the Living God in Luther, Oklahoma at an early age.
On April 6, 1956, Anze and Alfred Cochran were united in marriage. To this union six children were raised. Her unfailing devotion and love for her family was always her mission in life. Their love for her will grow stronger with time.
Anze was employed by Street's Clothing Store over a period of twenty seven years. She passed away Tuesday, October 30, 1990. Anze leaves to cherish her precious memory a loving husband, Alfred Cochran of the home; three daughters, Cindy Mitchell of Englewood, California, Anze Shannon and Marie Haynes of Oklahoma City; three sons, Amos of Luther, Howard and Relf of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Ora Bowen. Lucille Edwards, Nadine Cochran of Oklahoma City, and Louise Smith of Wichita, Kansas; three aunts, Annie Holmes of Los Angeles, California, Ester Turner and Castoria McCoy of Tucson, Arizona; She has to remember her eleven grand¬children and one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
