Alberta M. Snavely
BENNINGTON — Alberta M. Snavely, 76, Bennington, died Monday, Feb. 6, 1989, at the Asbury-Salina Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Snavely was born Alberta M. Allen on March 20, 1912, at Agenda and had been a resident of Bennington since 1957, moving from Concordia. She was a nurse's aide and ward clerk at Asbury Hospital, Salina, until retiring in 1977, and then worked at Smitty's Flower Shop, Bennington. She was a member of the United Church of Bennington.
Her husband, Earl G., died in 1962.
Survivors include four daughters, Norma Haynes of Larned, Shirley Hamilton of Scandia, Joyce Denault of Salem, Ore., Linda Nettles of Ferris, Texas; two brothers, Vern Allen of Concordia and Harold Allen of Clyde; a sister, Edna Graybeal of South Holland, Ill.; 28 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Church of Bennington, the Rev. Ron Robbins officiating. Burial will be in the Nelson Cemetery, southeast of Concordia. Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today at the Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis, and after 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
