TILSIT--Funeral services for Mrs. Frederike Ahrens, who died Monday at her home at Tilsit, were held here today from the Lutheran church. Mrs. Ahrens, resident of Cape Girardeau county nearly all her life, was 81 years old and her demise was attributed to old age.
Mrs. Ahrens had been living with a son, August, near Tilsit. The aged woman, who had a wide circle of friends who held her in high esteem, was born at Braunschweig, Germany. At the age of three years she came to America with her parents. The family located near this place. Her husband, Henry C. Ahrens, who was a successful farmer, died 33 years ago.
Surviving Mrs. Ahrens are two sons, August and Henry, and two daughters, Mrs. Henry Werner and Mrs. Louis Siebert, all of Tilsit. She also left five half-brothers, William and Henry Wagner of Jackson, Ferdinand of Poplar Bluff (...) obit ends.
