Mrs. Mabel Keller Smith, 53, 2525 E. 3rd St., died at St. John's Hospital Friday morning at 10 o'clock after an extended illness.
The body was taken to the Nuckols and Carmichael Funeral Home, and was removed to the family residence where friends will be received after 6 p.m. today. Services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bethany Christian Church by the Rev. Kermit Pugh, pastor, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church for an hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Smith was born at Summitville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Keller. She came to Anderson 32 years ago from Fairmount. She was employed at Delco-Remy Division for 11 years, working last in Dept. 601, and had also been employed at several local stores.
Surviving are the husband, Basil B. Smith; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Cookman, Anderson, and Mrs. Wilson Morgan, Pendleton; three sons, Wilford, Wade and John Smith, all of Anderson; seven grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Flora Jane Askren; her step-father, John R. Askren; four brothers, Jacob G. Keller, Muncie; Newton H. Keller, Anderson; D. Oren Keller, Plant City, Fla., and E. R. Keller, Fairmount; three sisters, Mrs. Glen Rutherford, Elwood, and Mrs. Carl Pace and Mrs. Dale Metzher, both of Fairmount, and several nieces and nephews.
