James William Logan, son of Rachel and William Finley Logan was born in Boston, Mass., Dec. 17, 1849. He came to Belleville in the year 1872, but returned to Cincinatti, where he was married to Anna Mary Gaking, Nov. 4, 1875. He returned to Kansas in 1884, where he has since resided.
To this union were born seven children, Mamie Josephine dying in infancy. He leaves to mourn his loss six children: Anna Mar Reed, Formoso, Kansas; Clara Vanmeter, Lovewell, Kansas; George Franklin, Logan and Dalla Harmon, Toppenish, Washington; Goldia Beaushaw, Jamestown, Kansas; 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; a brother and sister of Belleville, Kansas, a brother in Wyoming, a sister in Ohio, besides many other relatives and friends.
He passed away suddenly April 18, 1926, aged 76 years, 4 months and 1 day. His wife preceded him in death sixteen years ago.
