John, Esq. was in Revolutionary War as a Private in the SC Militia. Was of Scotch-Irish descent. John's parents were Joseph Alexander Adair, Jr. (1733-1812) and Sarah E. Dillard (1736-1812). John's grandparents were Joseph Alexander Adair, Sr. (1711-1789) and Sarah Laferty (1712-1770).

~Elizabeth Adair, Married Miles Garret.
~William Adair, B: about 1792
~Mary Adair married John Apperson.
~Farmer Adair,father of Captain James Adair. Ticket agent at the Union Depot, Atlanta

Inscription
Hand carved: "RIP John Adar September The 28 1812" [note: the S is backwards]. This memorial may be a duplicate since the spelling is Adair on an added second headstone. I created the memorial in case anyone is searching using the spelling that appears on the original stone.
