Pub in the Lockhart Post Register on June 29, 1972 - LAEL O CHAPMAN SR - Lael Ogden Chapman Sr., 77 year old retired Bookkeeper, died in a Houston nursing home at 6:30 pm on June 16th and was buried in Lockhart Cemetery. The Rev. E. V. May conducted services from Eeds Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, L.O. Chapman Jr. of Houston, and Carl W. Chapman of San Antonio; five brothers, William Buford Chapman and Steger Chapman of San Antonio, George H. Chapman of Lockhart, Rankin Chapman of Austin and H.Scott Chapman of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Floyd Wilson of Lockhart. Born at Lockhart November 11, 1894, he was a son of Wildbahn R. and Thomas Ann Bowers Chapman. He married Etta Vera Johnson and was a member of Heights First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge AF&AM. NOTE: also survived by a daughter, Helen McCurley.
