Edward C. Burks was the 4th child of Charlie and Bessie (King) Burks. He worked in the Altavista Pool Hall as a child (even though he was not supposed to be there).
In the late 1950's, he and some cousins traveled to Ontario, Canada to work seasonal farm jobs. In Canada, he met and married Dora Noels (Sept 1960). He and Dora lived in NC, USA. She passed away in 1973 and is buried in Clandeboye, Ontario. Their sons are Eddie, David, and Mark.
In 1987, Edward married Betty H. Barker of Asheboro, NC. She passed away in 2006 and is buried near Asheboro.
