Lisa M. Weber, 26, passed away at her home in Lansing, Michigan on Wednesday, July 15, 2009.
She was born May 20, 1983 the daughter of Frank D. and Rosanne R. (Brundige) Weber.

She attended Manistique area schools and graduated from the Manistique High School with the Class of 2001 as Co-Valedictorian. Her high school years were filled with playing in all of the sports, belonging to all of the high school clubs and working at Putvin's HealthMart . While in high school track, Lisa set three new track records.

Lisa then attended Michigan State University having been accepted into the Lyman Briggs Honors College and entered the Medical Scholars Program. (Only 10 applicants are accepted each year from the U.S.) During her first two years, she also worked at the M.S.U. library for medical students.

In 2004, she attended Lansing Community College for 2 years, graduating as a paramedic. She also worked as a teller at the Auto Body Credit Union in Lansing. In 2005, she worked as a paramedic and dispatcher for Mercy Ambulance in Lansing and went back to M.S.U. in the fall, once again in the medical scholars program. In 2006 she received her bachelor's degree in Human Medicine, maintaining a 3.60 GPA, while also working at the credit union. In 2007, Lisa entered her first year of medical school and in 2009 started her rotation at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.

During her first years at M.S.U., she volunteered on the university crisis team, volunteered and was the student coordinator at the Lansing Friendship Clinic, coordinated the Lansing Walk for the Uninsured, and had just accepted the position as Vice President of the Board of the American Medical Association Medical Student Section at M.S.U. Her interests were to volunteer and to help others in need. She had an enthusiasm and a passion to help everyone and to make them smile.

Lisa's hobbies included taking care of her pets, owning two chinchilla's for the past seven years, caring for her dog Missy for over 16 years and also keeping a pet turtle.

Lisa truly lived life to the fullest each day. We will never let go!

She is survived by her parents, Frank and Rosanne Weber of Manistique; brother, Frank J. Weber of Manistique; sister, Michelle (Ron Goudreau) Weber of Manistique; nephew, Alex Steven Goudreau; niece, Leah Marie Goudreau; significant other and best friend, Joe R. Martin, IV of Lansing; grandmother, Mary Alice Weber of Manistique; also many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Immediate family members that preceded her in death include her maternal grandparents, Ruth (Moline) Brundige and Robert P. Brundige; her paternal grandfather, Gerald M. Weber; and her cousins, Carrie J. Weber and Joey (Vallier) Weber.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:30 pm, Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique. A celebration of Lisa's life will follow at 6:30 pm, at the funeral home with Celebrant Carole Cooper officiating. A luncheon will follow at the V.F.W. Post #4420 in Manistique.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations to the Lisa Weber Memorial Scholarship be directed to and made payable to the Manistique High School, for a health occupations scholarship to be coordinated and set-up between Manistique High School and Michigan State University. Envelopes are available at the funeral home or donations can be directed to the Manistique High School Administration Building, c/o Donna Winkel, Cedar and Main Streets, Manistique, Michigan 49854.
