Keno A. Martinez 1929 - 2009 Loving husband, father and grandfather, Keno A. Martinez was one of six children born to Alcadio and Trine (Soto) Martinez April 30, 1929 in Bakersfield CA. Keno found his eternal peace on Friday, July 17, 2009, at 11:30 pm at the age of 80 at San Joaquin Community Hospital after a very hard fight against a sudden illness. Keno lived in California all his life and worked for Santa Fe Ice House 13 years and Adolph Gonzales Trucking Company as a Big Rig Truck Driver (22 years) and retired a foreman after 25 years. His greatest accomplishments were working hard and being able to give those in need a helping hand. He is preceded in death by son, Joaquin A. Martinez (2007) brothers, Ernest (2003) and Johnnie Martinez (1936). Keno is survived by his loving wife, Josephine E. Martinez; and daughters, Esther Martinez (David), Rachael Lopez (David), Irene Sosa (Adolfo); son, Richard A. Martinez; sisters, Jessie Garcia, Mary Motijo; brothers, Alcadio Martinez and Joe Martinez; 16 grandchildren, 33 great- grandchildren and 4 great-great- grandchildren. Keno's family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Valley Medical (Dr. Carlos Alvarez), San Joaquin Community Hospital E.R. and I.C.U. who were all kind, professional and tender hearted as they worked to care for Keno. His Legacy and spirit will live on as the family all strive to follow in the footsteps of this extra-ordinary husband, father and grandfather. Love Always Keno, your family. Mass of Christian Burial will Friday, July 24, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe - 10:00 a.m., interment following at Union Cemetery.
