Mrs W L Essary, 48, mother of Mrs A L Kelly, 1120 Roosevelt St, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday in Hendrick Memorial Hospital following an illness of two weeks. She had entered the hospital last Thursday. Her home was in Shallowater, but she had been visiting with her daughter here during her illness.
She was born December 29, 1907 in Springtown. She was the former Grace Elizabeth Huddleston. She married Mr Essary October 20, 1927 in Roby. She was a member of the Central Ave Baptist Church at Hamlin.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Hamlin church with the Rev Ray McMillan, Park Ave Assembly of God Church in Abilene, officiating. He will be assisted by the Hamlin pastor. Burial will be in Hamlin Cemetery under the direction of Laughter-North Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs C R Gruber of O'Donnell, Mrs Kelly of Abilene, and Mrs Edward Hilburn Jr of Lubbock; three sons, Daniel Essary of Lubbock, Dale and John Essary, both of Shallowater; nine grandchildren; her father, L M Huddleston of Hamlin; five sisters, Mrs Mae Headrick of Weatherford, Mrs Joe Stewart of Hamlin, Mrs A Branscum of Rotan, Mrs John Thomason of Ft Worth, and Mrs E L Ward of Orange; and three brothers, Jeff Huddleston of Matthews, H E Huddleston of Abilene, and J B Huddleston of Beaumont.
