Gary Cain, 71, of Champaign died on July 17, 2009, at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

He was born on Jan. 12, 1938, in Champaign, a son of Ervin and Ellen (Bales) Cain. He married Carolyn Ohl in Mahomet on Sept. 23, 1960.

He is survived by his wife; their sons, Richard (Paula) Cain of Byron, Ga., and Gary (Teresa) Cain Jr. of Mahomet; one brother, Richard (Susan) Cain of Peoria, Arizona and one sister, Lois (Bob) Groff of Mountain Home, Arkansas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Michael and one brother, Robert.
