EUTAW Melba Dean Lee Spencer, age 66, of Eutaw, died Feb. 11, 2008, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Sidney Allen, Rev. Bill Reeves, and Rev. Jack Clary officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery

She was preceded in death by her father, William Roy Lee, her father-in-law, Spurgeon Spencer, and her mother-in-law, Minnie Irene Spencer.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Charles E. Spencer; her son, Charles E. Spencer, Jr. (Terrie); her daughter, Danna S. Waldrop (Ken); her mother, Jessie Lee; her sisters, Virginia Dye Cadenhead (Bill) and Margaret Pate (Bobby); her brother, Otis Ray Lee (Berdie Ann); her brother-in-law, Oscar L. Spencer; her grandsons, Jacob Riley Spencer and William Chad Spencer (Angel); her great granddaughter, Kalia Spencer; her nephews, Andy and Randy Lee and Chris Pate; and her nieces, Susan Lee, Lynda Farmer, and Susan Smyly.

She was born August 28, 1941, in Tuscaloosa. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always a pleasant blessing to everyone and thoughtful of everyone.

Pallbearers will be Randy Lee, Chris Pate, James Carpenter, Matt Smith, Andy Lee, William Chad Spencer, and Richard A. Cross.

Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Beulah Baptist Church, Oncology of UAB, the staff of Dr. J. Michael Staughn, staff and doctors of Tuscaloosa Internal Medicine, DCH nurses of 2nd and 7th floors, staff of Merchants and Farmers Bank of Eutaw, Gary and Dorothy McGalliard of Eutaw, Lucille Carpenter and Paula Doss of Demopolis, members of the American Trail Raiders Association, Bob Edwards of Illinois, J.L. Steversons of Kentucky, George and Barbara Martin of Wilsonville, Pam Hollaway of Mississippi, Jan Boone of Mississippi, Pat Bond of Tennessee, Carol Johnson of Tennessee, Matt, Freddie, and Christian Smith of Arkansas, and Angie Plowman of Coker.
