Mrs. Frances Marie Armstrong, 61, of Caruthersville, died August 22 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital. Born January 6, 1923 in Wardell, she was the daughter of Robert Lee and Lettie Mae New Pitts. She attended schools in Wardell. She was a member of Jesus Name Tabernacle.
She is survived by her husband, Leamon Armstrong of Caruthersville, four sons, Stanley Craig and Leamon Armstrong Jr., both of Caruthersville, Sylvester Craig of Marceline, Mo., and Walter Craig of Westfield, Mass.; seven daughters, Mrs. Patricia Lakey, Mrs. Rita Moore, Mrs. Deborah Bray, Cheryl Craig and Mrs. Martha Kay Prater, all of Caruthersville and Mrs. Eunice Barrett and Angelia Armstrong, both of West Springfield, Mass.; three sisters, Mrs. Eunice Rynes and Mrs. Joy Wright, both of San Diego, and Mrs. Charlene Moye of Tucson, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, John Huston Craig.
Services were Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jesus Name Tabernacle, the Rev. John Stepp officiating, with burial in Maple Cemetery, H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
