The death of Mrs. Louisa S. Jones, lifelong resident of Wabash County, occurred Tuesday night at 12:30 at the hospital, where she had been a patient for the past three months. She had been in ill health for several months.
The daughter of David and Susan Coble, she was born in Wabash County near Somerset on September 14, 1856. She was married to William Preston Jones on April 1, 1874. Mr. Jones preceded her in death twenty years ago.
Four children were born to this union, Howard C. Jones, Homer M. Jones, Porter G. Jones, who preceded her in death, and Mrs. Paula Small.
Surviving besides the three children are the following grandchildren, Mrs. Janet Jones Mahaney of Detroit, Michigan, Preston Holder of Georgia, J. P. Jones and Edward Jones of Wabash, Miss Sue Small of Chicago, and Mrs. Vernon Fishback of South Bend, also two great grandchildren, Ann Mahaney and Edward Kemp Jones II. A sister, Mrs. Mina Jenkins of Wabash, also survives.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a charter member of the Literary Social Circle, a member of the Woman's Relief Corps, and Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. C. E. Lamale officiating. #Burial will take place in Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening and Friday.
