Callice Hansen Lasson, 89, died on Sunday, January 12, 1997 in Orem, Utah.


She was born March 24, 1907 in Mount Pleasant, UT to Ferdinand and Hilda Fredricksen Hansen.


Callice grew up in Mount Pleasant, the youngest of three children. She attended North Sanpete High School and was a telephone operator.


On February 4, 1931, she married Bernard Grant Lasson in the Manti Temple. They lived on a ranch in Birdseye, UT and raised five children. Twenty-five years ago they moved to Orem. Her husband preceded her in death by ninety days.


Callice was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When she was Relief Society president of the Birdseye Branch, she had to take wood and coal to start fires in the pot-bellied stove before the meetings. She was a Provo Temple ordinance worker for six years and a member of the Thalian Club in Spanish Fork.


She is survived by her children: Calvin G. (Corene) Lasson, Orem; B. Eugene Lasson, Green River; Elaine Lasson (Howard) Johnson, Lehi; Mary Lasson Stevens, Orem; Richard O. (Carol) Lasson, Salt Lake City. This nurturing mother and grandmother is loved and respected by these children, 23 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren.


Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 17, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Cascade Fourth Ward Chapel, 1050 East 200 North, Orem. Friends may call at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, on Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and on Friday at the Church from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
