Earl Wesley "Spud" Crank, 78, Normal, passed away at 5:09 p.m. Thursday (July 16, 2009) at Heartland Healthcare Center in Normal, Illinois.

He was born in Arrowsmith, Illinois, to Jack Hershel and Geneva Elizabeth Wilburn Crank. He married June Carlson on July 19, 1957, in Ellsworth. She preceded him in death Aug. 31, 2005, in Normal, Il. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Surviving are two daughters, Dee Ann (Kent) Shifflet, Normal, and Connie Sue Behrends, Monticello, Iowa; five grandchildren, Rauschelle (Kerry) Kirin, Jarred Shifflet, Katelyn Shifflet, Jenny Behrends and Dani Behrends and two great-grandchildren, Miles and Natalie Kirin.
