ANADARKO - Funeral for Pearl Marie Pocowatchit Vasquez, 53, Anadarko, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ware's Chapel, Anadarko.
Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ware's Chapel.
She died Monday, July 20, 2009, at her home.
Burial will be at Otipoby Cemetery, Fort Sill, under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 4, 1956, in Lawton, to Harold "Tilley" Pocowatchit and Lydia Tarsip. She grew up in the Fletcher area and attended Fort Sill Indian School. In 1974, she married Frank Vasquez at her mother's home in Anadarko. She was a full-blood member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma.
Survivors include her husband, of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters and two sons-in-law: LaCretia and Jose Vasquez, of the home; Annette and Shatti Vasquez, Chickasha; and Victoria Vasquez, Anadarko; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Christopher and Mandy Vasquez, and Andrew Vasquez, all of Anadarko; sisters: Carol George, Wichita, Kan.; and Leauna Farris, and Vicki Valliere, both of Anadarko; grandfather, Eldridge "Peaches" Monetathchi; grandmothers: Marjorie Burnstont, Wichita, Kan.; and Esther Onco, Norman; 17 grandchildren; aunts: Gloria Pocowatchit, and Cleta Pocowatchit, both of Fletcher; and Betsy Wermy, Cache; uncles: Vincent "Ben" Pocowatchit, Gerald Pocowatchit, Dennis Pocowatchit and Roderick Pocowatchit, all of Lawton; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; special companion, Jesse Palomares; sister, Ladeana Farris; grandmother, Mary Monetathchi; grandfather, James Pocowatchit; and great-grandfather, George "Woogie" Watchetaker.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Ware's Chapel.
