She was born November 9, 1929 in New Boston a daughter of William and Phoebe McPherren Brown. She graduated from New Boston High School and married James W. King July 4, 1948. He died in 1977.
Molly owned and operated the former Riverside Café in New Boston was employed as a cook at the Villa in Rock Island and was a dietitian at Aledo Rehab and Health Care Center in Aledo.
She was a member of the New Boston United Methodist Church; she enjoyed bingo, crocheting, needle point and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol King of Prophetstown, IL; a son, James "Donnie" (Charlene) King of New Boston; 6 grandchildren, Marci, Keith, Elizabeth, David, Tammie and Tara; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Stella Yates of Keithsburg and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and 9 brothers.
