Mary Faye (Carter) Frank died July 17, 1998, at the age of 74. She was born on
Oct. 15, 1923, in Fordyce, Ark., to the late William C. and Vernette Parker Carter, Sr. She graduated from Fordyce High School in 1941 and attended Texas
State College for Women in Denton, Texas, and Draughon's School of Business in Little Rock. She had worked for Tri-State Mill Supply in Fordyce and for Loomis Sayles and Co., an investment firm in Washington, D.C. After the end of World War II, she returned to Arkansas and worked for Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith. In 1947, she married Roy Frank, who had recently opened The Fabric Center, Inc. After his death in 1982, she continued to operate the store until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church and had been quite active in the Women of the Church.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas R. Frank and his wife, Mary Lue of North Little Rock, and James C. Frank and his wife Donna of Little Rock; a brother, Dr. James D. Carter, Ret. of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Ashley Frank of Dallas, Caroline and James Frank of Little Rock; and one stepgrandson, Jason Merritt of Oxford, Miss. She was preceded in death by a brother, Col. William C. Carter, Jr., and is survived by her sister-in-law, Virginia Carter of Alexandria,
Va.; and a niece and a nephew.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Griffin
Leggett Healey and Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock, 661-9111. A private graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 20, 1998, at Forest Hills Memorial Park. A memorial service at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church at
Pine Valley Road and McKinley will be at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Debbie
and Jim Freeman. Memorials may be sent to Westover Hills Church, American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
