BONNE TERRE — Flossie M. (Akins) Eades of Mineral Point passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Fieser Nursing Center, Fenton. She was born May 27, 1926, in Danby, Mo., to the late Lewis and Bertha (Erb) Akins. Also preceded in death by two sisters, Rhoda Akins and Mary Harman, five brothers, Albert, Raymond, Robert, Edgar, and Joel Akins, and her sister-in-law, Virginia Anderson.

Flossie enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, crossword puzzles and mostly spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jesse Eades, her children, Kathleen (Rick) Hoelzer, Peggy (Gordon) Bess, Janice (Wade) White, Coleen (Kevin) Evans, Terry (Valerie) Eades and Kenneth Eades, 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, Donald Akins, and brother-in-law, Andrew Runzi. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Family to receive friends 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2009, at Shearin Funeral Home, Bonne Terre. Funeral Service 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2009, at Shearin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Eades and Rev. Rick Hoelzer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Relay for Life Cancer c/o Shearin Funeral Home appreciated.
