Lester LeRoy Pike, 47, of Nichols, died Sunday at his home after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Nichols First Christian Church, with the Rev. Noble A. Bolinger, officiating. Burial was in the Nichols Cemetery. The Snyder Funeral Home in West Liberty was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Pike was born on June 2, 1918, at Nichols, the son of Ira and Ann Pike. He was graduated from the University of Iowa in 1940, and served in the Navy from 1941-46.
He later served as both a state and federal conservation officer. From 1954 on he farmed in the Nichols area.
On Oct. 7, 1965, he married Grace Borgstadt, at Nichols.
Surviving are his widow; two step-sons, Steve Borgstadt, with the Marine Corps in Viet Nam and Michael at home; one step-daughter, Sydney, at home; a brother, Irvin of West Liberty; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Betty) Tyler, of Muscatine and Mrs. Ed (Luetta) Winfield, of West Liberty, and his parents.
