Robert was married to Lucia W. Kilgore on May 30, 1892 in Platte City, Missouri, and they had six children.

Robert Eggleston Died Yesterday

Robert E. Eggleston, 81, died yesterday at his home, 6929 Walrond Ave., Kansas City, Mo. He was a retired carpenter and left Leavenworth about 1910.

Mr. Eggleston was the last remaining member of a family who settled in Leavenworth among the first pioneers. They resided on the southeast corner of Second and Miami. Christopher Eggleston was an early-day overland transfer teamster and hauled freight from Leavenworth to all prominent shipping posts in Kansas and Colorado.

The family consisted of father, mother, daughter, Lizzie, and five sons, John, Tom, Walter, Henry, and Robert. In 1884 the daughter was a copy reader for the old Leavenworth Chronicle.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John Tyner of the home and Mrs. J.P. Walton, 2811 East 67th, Kansas City, Mo., 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 8 a.m. tomorrow at the St. Louis church in Kansas City. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. at the Mt. Muncie cemetery.
