Rufus A. Brown was born in Athens county, Ohio, Oct. 14, 1861, and came to Gladwin in 1870 and lived here until his death March 16, 1932. He was married Sept. 30, 1894, to Miss Flora Robinson, also of Gladwin. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Fred Demaray of Gladwin, Mrs. Charles Coffel of Saginaw and Leroy Brown of Grand Ledge. He also leaves 15 grandchildren, besides numerous relatives and a host of friends.
Services were held from the Methodist church Friday, March 18, at 2 p.m. Rev. L. M. Whitney officiating. Music for the service was sung by Mrs. James Bender. The body was laid to rest in Highland cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 03-24/1924 Column - 7 Page - 1
