Paula Jo Maples, 69, of New Hope passed away Saturday at Barfield Health in Guntersville, where she had been a resident since January.
Jo-Jo loved Barfield and all her very special friends there.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Stanfield and Bro. Edwin Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Byrd Cemetery.
Paula Jo is survived by her sister, Sherry Spurlin and husband Byron of Grant; niece, Frankie Joyce Kelly of New Orleans; nephew, Harold Kelly and wife Annette of Huntsville; niece, Susan Donaldson and husband Jim of Houston; nephew, Mark Spurlin of Grant; two great-nephews; two great nieces; two great-great-nieces; one great- great-nephew; and a host of extended family and friends.
Miss Maples was preceded in death by parents, Lone and Pauline Maples; and her sister, Joyce M. Kelly.
Pallbearers will be Frank Kelly, Byron Spurlin, Harold Kelly, Mark Spurlin, Adam Kelly, Adam Olinger, and Garland Elders. Honorary pallbearers are the management and staff of Barfield Health Care who loved Jo-Jo and provided unequaled care of her this past year, especially during her last few days.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Barfield Health Care and designated for the Residents' Patio Project.
