Houston Briggs Services Friday

Services for Houston Briggs, 50, who died Monday in Hastings Hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Briggs Pentecostal Holiness church by Rev. Bud Lacey.

Burial will be in Cedar Tree Cemetery at Briggs under direction of Reed-Culver and selected bearers are Azell Hudson, R.G. Lisenbee, Archie Fanning, Wilburn Shatswell, Stanley Ward & J.B. Miller.

Born in Cherokee county near Eldon, April 7, 1919, Mr. Briggs lived several years in Kansas City, Kansas. He was minister of Free Holiness church in Kansas City, Missouri, and was a retired security guard of Western Electric in Lees Summitt, Missouri. He was a veteran of World War Two.

Survivors are his wife, Violet of the home; two sons, Arnold of the home and Aaron of Tahlequah; five daughters, Clydie Crainshaw of Tahlequah, Eunice Hallum of Belton, Missouri, Suelene Hudson of Tahlequah, Carolyn Briggs of the home and Dretha Hallum of Raytown, Missouri; six grandsons; a brother, Earl of Tahlequah; four sisters, Vivian Speers of Tahlequah, Martha Colburn of Tahlequa, Mary Ann Fritts of Tahlequah and Vernie Woodrow of Barrett, West Virginia.
