Mrs. Jennie B. Goss, wife of J.W. Goss, died Friday night, Jan 3, 1908, at 7 o'clock, of pneumonia from which she had suffered several days. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. L. Brown, and attended by one of the largest crowds ever witnessed in town. The Eastern Star Lodge, of which she was a devoted member, conducted the burial service. Her body was laid to rest in New Hope cemetery.
She was born near Greersburg, Arkansas, on Feb. 8, 1841. She was married to J. W. Goss in 1870. She leaves a devoted husband, three children by this union, two children by a former marriage and a large number of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. She was a devoted, consistant member of the Methodist Church. She was a noble woman, a wife true and devoted, a mother kind and affectionate, a Christian without guile and ostentation, a neighbor kind and obliging, and The Standard joins a host of friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
