Vickie Tienken Watts, 62, of Wilmington, NC, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born on March 15, 1946 in Wilmington, NC, the daughter of the late Charles L. and Evelyn Newton Tienken.

Mrs. Watts was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was first and foremost dedicated to her role as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church as well as being involved in Bible Study Fellowship and Community Bible Study. She also was a member of Hanover Seaside Club and served as a Guardian Ad Litem.

Surviving is her husband of thirty-eight years, Evan D. Watts, Jr.; three daughters, Amy W. Kullberg and husband Eric of Wilmington, NC, Natalee A. Watts of Santa Monica, CA, and Trisha D. Watts of Raleigh, NC; one grandchild, Ella Evan Kullberg; one sister, Linda T. Surratt and husband David of Wilmington; and her mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Watts of Murrills Inlet.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church by Rev. Samuel Zumwalt. A private interment will be held in Oakdale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Damon, Jeff, and Gregg Surratt, Wendell Burris, John Griggs, Jr., and Bill Spencer. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Benton.
