Daughter of Robert and Jane Garrett of Ashland, Oregon. Her parents and several brothers went to Oregon on the Oregon Trail. She married first Burnett M.Easley 22 Feb 1848 in Washington county. Burnett died on the way to the California gold fields in 1850 leaving Dorinda a young widow with two small boys - Robert Burnett and Francis Marion Easley. On 12 June 1851 Dorinda married Josiah (Joseph) H. Blackburn of War Eagle. They were the parents of six children, whose descendants still live in the Northwest Arkansas area. Her two sons by Burnett M. Easley migrated to Comanche county, Texas, where many of their descendants still live. (Details on the Easley family are contained in my book, "Ancestry and Descendants of William Easley of Benton and Washington counties, Arkansas" by Kyle Dameron, published in 1984.) I am currently (2009) researching the Garrett family for an eventual book.
