CIVIC OFFICES: After incorporation of Malden in 1649 he became active in civil matters. Clerk & Selectman for many years. John Waite and Joseph Hills compiled the Massachusetts Laws of 1648. Was of the House of Deputies of which he succeeded Joseph Hills in 1666. Represented Malden for 18 years.

EMIGRATION: Came from Wetherfield, England to New England about 1638 on the Susan & Ellen ship along with his father-in-law Joseph Hills.
