ROTHROCK–Edna E., 96, of Westmont, died July 17, 2009, at Allegheny Lutheran Home. Born April 25, 1913, in Petersburg to Walter B. & Dessa (Learner) Gates. Predeceased by first husband, James C. Hennen; second husband, James L. Rothrock; brothers, Charles, Paul and Roy Gates; and sisters, Blanche I. Miller, Bertha M. Schilling and Elda P. Benton. Survived by daughter, Cyndy, wife of Randy Poggemiller, St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, Eric Poggemiller, and wife, Leslie, and Kristy, wife of Adil Ejjalty, Kansas City, MO; and great-grandson, Kevin Poggemiller. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Edna was a graduate of Petersburg High School and Juniata College and did postgraduate work at Penn State Univ. Prior to coming to Johnstown, she taught school in the New Cumberland and Altoona school districts. She was a longtime active member of Christ Lutheran Church, Westmont, and a life member of AAUW, the Johnstown Heritage Ass. and the Community Arts Center. Edna also was a volunteer at Allegheny Lutheran Home. Friends will be received from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. Monday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown. Interment, Alto Reste Cemetery, Altoona.
