Jasper McKay Parrish, 73, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Mountain View Nursing Home where he had been a patient for two years.
Mr. Parrish was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church and retired employe of the local Du Pont plant. Mr. Parrish, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, came to Waynesboro for work in the Maintenance Department of the Du Pont plant where he was employed 15 years before retiring.
Born March 17, 1885, in Mt. Sidney, Mr. Parrish was a son of the late Dr. James Spottwood and Susan Alice Gentry Parrish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Catherine Frances Clark Parrish, on Feb. 4, 1953.
The last member of his immediate family, Mr. Parrish is survived by one sister, Mrs. Donald (Grace) Marsh, Waynesboro; one niece and two nephews.
Body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in teh Chapel of the Etter Funeral Home by the Rev. George H. Boyd. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Joseph Mize, Floyd Dooms, W. D. Shumate, Carl Rankin, Clyde May and Walter Hickok.
Honroary bearers will be Guy Kerby, J. H. Niblock, R. A. Mowry, Dr. B. K. Weems, J. B. Yount Jr., Carl Norman, E. W. Barger, Raleigh Fitzgerald, Hollis Cash, George Miller, Joseph Landes, Ernest Kerby, Clyde May, Raymond Hanger, Simon Birdsong and Roy Hevener.
