ANOTHER CONFEDERATE SOLDIER GONE.
Mr. Samuel Jenks Miles passed away at his home near Chestnut Knob last Friday.
Mr. Miles was 71 years old and was a brave soldier in the Civil War.
He is survived by three sons, Messrs. Samuel, R. H. and Jesse W. Miles, and two daughters, Mrs. C. E. Jarrett, Hampton, Va., and Mrs. J. E. Hall, Fayerdale, Va., also one brother Mr. Nat Miles and four sisters, Mrs. Wm. Montgomery, Mrs. John Cobler, Mrs. Jessie Freeman and Miss Bettie Miles.
The funeral was conducted at the late residence and the body was buried in the family burying ground.
