Lucy A. Bacon was the daughter of Josiah and Abigail (Hall) Bacon born about 1784 in Woodbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut, (May have been Great Barrington, Berkshire County, Massachusetts), and died on 29 Oct 1852 in Brighton Township, Lorain County, Ohio, age 68. She married Avery Hall on 1 Sep 1805 in Woodbury and together they had at least eleven children: Erastus, Sarah, Edwin, Avery Edwin, Lucy, Orrin, Julia B., Theophilus, John Willard, William J., and Clarissa.

There is a question about where she was born. On the 1850 Census it is indicated that she was born in New York but there are many issues with information from census reports. Other researchers indicate that she was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, where her family stayed before moving to Ohio.
