World War I soldier.
Son of William E. and Minnie D. Peterson; Student. Enlisted in Company H, Indiana National Guard, April 5, 1916, Warsaw, Ind. Entered service with the 150th Field Artillery, 42nd (Rainbow) Division. Overseas in October, 1917. Participated in battles of Lorraine, Champagne, Marne, St. Mihiel, and Montfaucon. Killed in action October 9, 1918, near Montfaucon, France. Buried near Montfaucon. The American Legion Post in Warsaw, Indiana, is named in his honor.
