Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery near Ft. Jesup, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on May 24, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Shirley French, 72 years of age, passed away May 22, 2015. She was born December 29, 1942 in Robeline, LA. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a faithful friend, and devoted wife. She was a very strong-willed and determined lady, and never let life's obstacles get her down. She had a strong faith and love for God and her family. She was a wonderful sister and sister-in-law, she loved to cook for any occasion, and deeply enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley was a life-long resident of Robeline, LA. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Harold French. Jr. of Coushatta, LA and Kent Carroll and his wife Betty of Marthaville; her daughters, Tina Renee Weems and her husband Alan of Provencal, LA, Katy Palmer and her husband Billy of Robeline, LA, and Deanna Lynn French of Robeline, LA; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Linda Bernard and her husband Brian of Natchitoches, LA and Billie Sue Settles and her husband Arden of Marthaville, LA; her brothers, Glenn Byles and his wife Edna of Clarence, LA, Ronnie Byles and his wife Mary Lou of Natchitoches, LA, Terry Byles and his wife Patricia of Many, LA, and Jimmy Byles and his wife Dianne of Robeline, LA; her sister-in-laws, Penny French of Robeline, Marilyn Ladner and her husband Charles of Lake Charles, LA, and Sophie Byles of Natchitoches, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
