Died at her residence in Roanoke Co., on the 24th day of November, Mrs Frances Thacker Harvey, in the 84th year of her age.

Mrs Harvey had been a member of the Presbyterian church from its organization forty years ago; and among its many sore bereavements during the last few years, none will be more sincerely lamented than this venerable and excellent "mother-in Israel". Her life was an example of humble, consistent piety, and in death she manifested that ,calm resignation to God's will which is founded upon a sure confidence in the great and precious promises of his holy word. She had passed thru many checkered scenes, through many trials and deep sorrows, but divine grace had mercifully sustained her in them all,and she could say with Job; God’s suffering saint, my reward is in heaven, and my record is on high."
