Horace married Florence Kitch May 20, 1896.

Horace Greely Higdon,61 died Friday in Decatur and Macon county hospital where he had been taken Friday noon from his home. He had been ill with kidney trouble since last October. His condition became serious nine days ago. He was a member of Niantic Christian church.

For the last 11 years he had lived in Decatur and for several years had served as night watchman at the Talbott-Bilgere garage.

He was born in Griggsville April 24,1872 [sic] a son of the late Andrew and Nancy Higdon. For many years he farmed in the neighborhood of Niantic where he was married to Miss Florence Kitch.

A daughter Helen, died two years ago. Surviving are the widow and the following children, Mrs. Myrtle Tieman of Oxley, Mo. and Mrs. Elsie Hartwig, Mrs. Laura Esters,Mrs. Bessie Collins and Cecil Higdon all of Decatur. He leaves 3 brother and a sister, Harvey of Griggsville, John of Kansas City, Kan., Albert of Quincy and Mrs. Margaret Wisdon of Wichita Falls, Tex.

Funeral services have not yet been determined but he will be buried in Harristown cemetery.
