Son of William E. and Emma (Kahn) Clark.

Cloyd was married and divorced once prior to marrying Nellie Waneta Hewitt on 22 Dec 1934. They had no children. Nellie had been married and widowed, and had two children from that previous marriage.

Cloyd and his stepson Ronnie F. Shepperd operated "Happy and Son Garage" auto repair shop in downtown Gas City, IN. Ronnie continued it after Cloyd's death.
