She was the daughter of Cyrus Smith and Clara (Baxter) Smith Barragar. She was first married to Richard Seeks. She married Fred Groner on 22 October 1913. He died December 6, 1931. She later married James Pollard. Her death left James and her step-son George Pollard to mourn her. She was also survived by step-father John Barragar of Clarinda, Iowa; two sisters, Celestia Brann and Victoria Bohart, two brothers, Wyatt and Wilmot Smith, half-sisters Mary McNutt of Huron, So. Dakota, and Mabel Berringer of Clarinda, Iowa, and half-brothers John and William Barragar of Clarinda.
