Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home.
Troy was born Jan. 20, 1935, in Tahlequah, Okla., to Omar "Bud" and Iva G. Hendrix Anderson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the fourth child in his family of eight children. He graduated St. Johns High School and set out on a fascinating journey we call life! A short time in the oil fields of Kansas, an auto wreck and broken leg Colorado called. After moving to Denver in 1952, working as a serviceman and then salesman at Western Trailer Sales. With lots of hard work, some call "luck," he became CEO of GEM Mobile Homes and GEM Distributing. In 1968 he moved on to United Mobile Homes. In 1983, Texas' warm weather beckoned and Troy D. Anderson Insurance Agency came into existence.
Troy married Joyce Ann Hicks on July 12, 1968, in Las Vegas.
Troy enjoyed life to the fullest, loved his family, loved traveling the world over, reading and football. Most of all, he loved to work; the accomplishment of a job well done was satisfaction enough. He will be greatly missed but as we say our farewells, we also say, "God's speed and well done, Troy, Well done!"
Troy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ray and Roy; and sisters, Novella and Nadine. What a joyous reunion is going on in heaven right now!
Survivors: Wife of 41 years, Joyce Ann Anderson of Burleson; daughter, Tammy Crawford and husband, Brian, of Burleson; grandson, Sam Crawford and wife, Stephanie, of Abilene; great-granddaughter, Baylor Crawford; Darlene Anderson of Yukon, Okla., and Doris Anderson of Stafford, Kan.; sisters, Betty Jean Englehart and husband, Ray, of Greely, Colo., Brenda Forgy and husband, Dennis, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Pam Downs and husband, Cliff, of Skiatook, Okla.; special family friend, Minnie Lundberg of Lakewood, Colo.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews scattered all over the United States.
