Melvin Fletcher, 79, of Irwin County, Georgia died Thursday, October 2, 2003 at the Medical Center Of Central Georgia, Macon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 5, 2003 at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church, Irwin County with Elder Jamey Tucker, Elder Jeff Harris, & Elder Rabon Lord officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7:00 to 9:00, Saturday evening at Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald.

Mr. Fletcher was born March 19, 1924 in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Elias Dorminy & Fannie Dykes Fletcher. He was a Farmer & lived in Irwin County all of his life. Mr. Fletcher served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Eureka Primitive Baptist Church.

Mr. Fletcher is survived by his wife, Martha Cleghorn Fletcher, Irwin County; son, Gary M. Fletcher, Irwin County; daughter & son-in-law, Angie & Rob Bryan, Irwin County; grandchildren, Anna & Andrew Bryan, Irwin County; sister, Betty F. Bass, Tifton;
