Blounts first wife, Caroline Burson, died in Tallapoosa County Alabama in September of 1894 at age 44. He remarried, to Emma Calhoun Carleton, on September 1, 1895. Both their children were born at Dadeville. Blount had gone to Oklahoma to participate in the Lawton Land Lottery of 1901. Emma joined him there in 1903.
