Civil War Veteran Dies in Atlanta, GAWord was received here this morning stating that Wm. R. Mahood died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.P. Huston, in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Mahood was born in Ohio. He enlisted in the Union Army at New Athens, Ohio, and served throughout the Civil war. He was with Sherman’s army in it famous march to the sea. He was discharged from the service at Washington, D.C. in 1865. Migrated to Minnesota in 1866 and settled on a farm in Section 36. He served on term in the legislature from Le Sueur County. He is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. P.J. Kinnery of Kilkenny, Mrs. Huston of Atlanta, Ga., and Geo. A. Mahood of St. Paul, MN, also a brother and two sisters, James Mahood of Polson, Montana, Mrs. Hess and Mrs. Garvin of Le Sueur Center, Minn.
