The Fresno County Coroner's Office has identified the drivers of two cars who were killed shortly after 1 a.m. Friday in a collision on Highway 180 near DeWolf Avenue as Michael Whittle Jr., 29, of Fresno and Angel Moreno, 29, of Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol said a 2008 Nissan was westbound on Highway 180 when it ran off the side of the road, lost control, drifted back onto the road, crossed the center line and ran into an eastbound 1994 Pontiac. The CHP report did not identify which cars Whittle and Moreno were driving. The CHP did not release the name of a woman who was a passenger in the Pontiac. She was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
