VERN C. DUNCAN - TEMPLETON —

Vern Charles Duncan, 85, of Templeton RD 2, Madison Township, Armstrong County, died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 1991, at his home, following an extended illness.

Born October 23, 1905, in Madison Township, he was a son of the late he Herbert F. and Martha Mitilda (Crissman) Duncan.

On October 3, 1927, he married the former Flora Ellen Hetrick. She survives. He attended the Hawkville School.
Mr. Duncan was a lifelong farmer in Madison Township. He retired in 1967 from St. Charles brickyard where he had been employed for 35 years.

He was a former Madison Township supervisor and a former member of the Duncan Cemetery Board of Directors.
Mr. Duncan was an avid hunter and sportsman. He was a former member of the Creek Hill Rod and Gun Club in Chickasaw and the Distant Rod and Gun Club. He was a Protestant by faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Virginia C.) Lorenz of Templeton RD 2, Mrs. Elmer (Pauline L.) Bliss of Rimersburg RD 2 and Mrs. John (June E.) Elliott Jr. of Curllsville; and a son, David Vern Duncan of Rimersburg RD 2. Also surviving are: one sister, Mrs. Rosetta Buzzard of Templeton RD 2; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Loyal Duncan and Gale Duncan; and a grandson. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home at Rimersburg, J. D. Miller supervisor, with the Rev. Ben Shindledecker, pastor of the Kellersburg Evangelical Missionary Church, officiating. Interment followed in Duncan Cemetery, Armstrong County.
