EDEN -- Brent L. Carver, 56, beloved husband, father, son and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at his home in Eden following a courageous battle with cancer. His wife, Carol, and many of his loving family members were at his bedside.
He was born February 26, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, a son of Truman H. and Vivian Harrington Carver.
On August 4, 1966, Brent married Jan Nelson. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Jan preceded him in death on July 19, 1982.
Bringing many years of love and companionship was Carol Rasley, whom he married on July 24, 1986, in Kaysville, Utah.
Brent received his education in the Ogden and Davis County school systems and attended Weber State University.
He began his career with the Internal Revenue Service where he was currently employed as a Program Manager, with over 36 years of service. He had a great love for his job as well as the many special friendships with his fellow associates.
Brent was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving faithfully in many important callings. At the time of his death he was serving in the Bishopric of the Eden 1st Ward. He was actively involved in the Scouting Program, which was always a very important part of his life.
Brent enjoyed many sports - from playing basketball for Davis High School to hunting and being outdoors with friends and family. A jack of all trades - a master carpenter - Brent loved to build and give to his friends log furniture. Always willing to help others, he was instrumental in organizing fund-raisers for the establishment of the Eden Town Park and served as President of that committee for a number of years.
"BC" as he was affectionately known, spent most weekends with his grandchildren who brought him much comfort and happiness. He had a special interest in their activities and took great pride in their accomplishments. They will be forever blessed by his influence in their lives.
Brent set an example for all of us by practicing in his daily life the ideals and beliefs he professed, remaining faithful in his religious beliefs and enduring to the end.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; children: Taun Carver and her husband Scott Bagshaw; Bart Carver; Tyler (Courtney) Rasley; Lani Rasley and her husband Jim Seeger; Amy Rasley; and Ryan (Eden) Rasley; eight grandchildren: Kalie, Kade, and Kenzi Carver; Lawson, Macy, Matthew, Natalee and Jaeden Rasley; his parents, Truman H. and Vivian Carver; two brothers, Truman R. (Kathy), and Michael Carver.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist"s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., with Bishop Dennis Shaw officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
