Mark Joseph Vollet, Sr

Mark Vollet, Sr. of House Springs, Missouri was born on August 29, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri a son of the late, Katherine Lynn (Griffiths) Vollet and Joseph Michael Vollet. Mark departed this life on February 2, 2009 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri having reached the age of forty-seven years, five months and four days.

Mark is survived by one daughter, Melinda MacMurray and husband, Robert of Doniphan, Missouri; three sons, Mark Vollet, Jr. of Oxly, Missouri, Jeremy Vollet of Oxly, Missouri, Alex Vollet of House Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Michele Hawkins and husband, Brent of Potosi, Missouri, Mary Jo Midgett and husband, Paul of Belgrade, Missouri; one brother, Michael Vollet and wife, Angie of Hazelwood, Missouri; former wife, Sandra Melton of Oxly, Missouri; six grandchildren, Destany, Faith, Tyler, Desiree, Danielle and Joseph; also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Mark was preceded in death by his loving parents, Katherine and Joseph Vollet.

Mark served his country by enlisting into the United States Army on August 5, 1980 in St. Louis, Missouri. While serving he worked as an Aircraft Weapon System Repairer and received the Army Service Ribbon. Mark received an honorable separation on August 17, 1983, as Specialist 4.

Mark enjoyed the outdoors, especially going fishing. He loved all sports, collecting sports memorabilia and watching baseball. He also enjoyed spending time with friends, bowling and playing pool. Mark was a dedicated U.P.S. employee for over twenty years. He will be very greatly missed by the many lives he has touched.

Visitation was held Friday, February 6, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Friday, February 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Joe Welschmeyer officiating.

Final prayers and burial took place in the Calvary Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri where Mark received full military honors consisting of a firing party, taps, flag folding and presentation. Honoring Mark by serving as pallbearers were: Brent Hawkins, Bucky Hawkins, Paul Midgett, Logan Midgett, Lance Midgett and Robert MacMurray.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
