Ocala - Mr. Michael Louis "Mike" Torres, age 62, of Ocala, Florida passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009 at his residence. He was born in White Plains, New York and moved to Ocala in 1980 from New Jersey. He served his country in the U.S. Army Tank Battalion during the Viet Nam War and was a V.F.W. Post member. He retired after 30 years service as a field Engineer with IBM/Kodak/Danka Industries and continued working with the Department of Transportation for several years after. He is Catholic by Faith. Mike loved "roller coasters" was a movie buff; an electronic tinkerer and was a "Star Treker". He is survived by his wife, Patricia R. (Boler) Torres of Ocala, FL.; his (2) sons, Michael L. Torres, Jr. of Seattle, Washington and Adam C. Torres of Marietta, Ga.; his loving parents, Michael and Marcia Torres of Ocala, FL. and his brother Patrick Torres of Hawley, PA. A "Celebration of Life" Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 under the direction of Roberts Funeral Homes, Bruce Chapel West, 6241 S.W. State Road 200, Ocala, Florida 34476. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to service time. A private family interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida, at a later date.
