Sgt. Gardner Gilbert was the son of Deacon Samuel and Abigail (Rowley) Gilbert, III. Anna (Lothrop) Gilbert was his 1st wife. They were married June 9, 1778. Anna died November 6, 1826. Mary Sowders Gilbert was his 2nd wife. They were married in 1830. Mary died in 1866. Sgt. Gilbert served during the Revolutionary War.
